Duration : 60 mins Max Size : 25 Destination : Argentina
Category : Tours & Experiences Recommended For : Schools
On this tour children will learn all about the national drink of Argentina during this in-depth exploration of Yerba mate, both a beverage and a social ritual that are 'steeped' in tradition. This caffeinated tea was originally consumed by the indigenous peoples of South America before becoming a favourite of gauchos, everyday Argentinians and even the Pope!
Presented by local expert tour guide Camile, this session will give children a thorough insight into Argentinian culture because Mate is not just a drink...it's a cultural habit. Unlike other beverages, there is a whole set of rituals around Mate. In learning about Mate children will learn about local practices and traditions. They will also gain a better understanding of the history of the indigenous people.
